After the client has requested a full design for a project, a preliminary design and cost estimate by Facilities Management shall be produced. The preliminary design is schematic in nature and is meant to define the scope of the project. More than one design may be required to determine the most effective resolution to the project’s targets.

As part of the funding package, $4.525 million is required for the capital project, and the faculty and Chadron State Foundation are partnering to secure funding. The Foundation has already secured more than $1.5 million and is working to safe further funds through its Next Horizon marketing campaign. The Math Science renovation and addition project has received widespread help in the area. More than forty organizations, including faculty districts, city governments, hospitals, and employers in western Nebraska have endorsed the project. The Math Science constructing has long been the top construction project for the NSCS Board of Trustees.

The project includes renovation of the two wings that comprise the original building. It is equally necessary that the client’s representative hold all shopper stakeholders knowledgeable concerning their project. Furthermore, any shopper adjustments to the specs or scope of labor after the preliminary estimate is accomplished would require extra time and cost to complete the project. Departments have to agree upon the scope of the project and particular requirements early in the starting stage.

The new facility will home 15 school rooms, sixty seven college workplaces, six meeting rooms, two lounges, and ample open area with seating and gathering areas. Collections, workplaces and other parts of the Davison Art Gallery on High Street will eventually be housed on the new location, which will be set between the east finish of Olin Library on Church Street and the campus walkway behind Judd Hall.
